Why these tools run in your browser
Every tool here processes your file locally in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, which matters more than it sounds when the file is a resume with your address and phone number, or a signed document.
You do not have to take that on trust. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and run any of these tools on a file. You will see no upload request, because there is none. Most online PDF services work the opposite way: your file goes to their server, gets processed there, and is deleted on whatever schedule they choose.
What that means in practice
Because processing is local, there are no file size limits imposed by an upload, no queue, and no account required. It also means large files depend on your own machine's memory, so a very large document may be slower on an older device than it would be on a server.
Choosing the right tool
If you are preparing a document for a job application, the most common needs are reducing file size to fit an upload limit, combining separate pages into one file, and converting between formats because the form only accepts one. Each of those has a dedicated tool here, and none of them ask you to sign up.
One practical tip for applications: unless the form specifically asks for another format, submit a PDF. It preserves your layout across devices, where a document file can reflow and change the pagination of your resume on someone else's machine.
