What a strong recruiter resume looks like
A strong recruiter resume reads like a sales record, because that is what hiring managers are buying. They want to see req volume, roles filled, time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, and the sourcing channels behind the numbers. The first third of the page should answer three questions: how many people did you hire, how fast, and how hard were the roles. Everything else is supporting detail. Recruiters skim faster than almost any other audience, so every bullet needs a number or a scope statement, and the layout should be scannable in under ten seconds.
The best recruiter resumes also show judgment, not just activity. Any recruiter can run a LinkedIn search. The ones who get hired show they know which roles deserve deep sourcing, how they partnered with hiring managers on calibration, and how they closed candidates in competitive markets. If you moved from agency to corporate (or the reverse), frame the transition as range: agency proves speed and volume, corporate proves stakeholder management and workforce planning. Name the applicant tracking systems you have used, since Greenhouse, Lever, and Workday appear in most job descriptions and double as ATS keywords.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
B.A. in Human Resource Management, University of Texas at Austin (2019)
SHRM-CP, Society for Human Resource Management (2022) · AIRS Certified Internet Recruiter (2021)
Key skills to include
- Full-cycle recruiting. The core of the job: intake, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer, and close. State it plainly since most job descriptions use this exact phrase.
- Sourcing and Boolean search. Hiring managers want proof you can find people, not just process applicants. Tie it to hires from passive channels.
- ATS expertise. Name the systems you have actually used. Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and iCIMS are the most requested, and they work as resume keywords.
- Stakeholder management. Corporate roles live or die on hiring-manager partnership. Show calibration sessions, intake discipline, and pushback done well.
- Offer negotiation and closing. A high offer acceptance rate is one of the strongest numbers a recruiter can show. Put it near the top.
- Data-driven recruiting. Funnel metrics, time-to-fill trends, and source-of-hire analysis show you manage a process, not just a inbox.
- Diversity sourcing. Many companies track this explicitly. Mention structured interviews, diverse slates, or partnerships only if you genuinely did the work.
How to write each section
Summary
Lead with years of experience, the type of recruiting (corporate, agency, or both), and your specialty areas. Follow with your two strongest metrics: total hires and either time-to-fill improvement or offer acceptance rate. Four lines is the limit. A recruiter who cannot write a tight summary raises an immediate question about judgment.
Experience
For each role, open with scope: how many reqs you carried, what kinds of roles, and the team size. Then stack bullets that each carry one metric: hires per year or quarter, time-to-fill, screens per week, offer acceptance, or hardest fills. Promote your recruiting coordinator years briefly; they show you understand the machinery, but they should not take more space than your recruiter roles.
Skills
Split into two groups if you have room: recruiting skills (sourcing, closing, stakeholder management) and tools (ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, assessment tools). Only list tools you could discuss in an interview. Claiming Workday expertise you do not have will surface fast when a hiring manager asks a follow-up.
Education
A degree in HR, business, or psychology is standard but not required. Certifications carry real weight here: SHRM-CP and AIRS credentials (CIR, CDR) signal professional seriousness. Put the most recognized credential first and skip coursework unless you are early in your career.
ATS tips for recruiter resumes
- Mirror the job description's language. If the posting says "full-cycle technical recruiting," use those words instead of paraphrasing. Recruiting job descriptions are keyword-dense by design.
- Spell out acronyms once. Write "applicant tracking system (ATS)" the first time. Your resume will be read by recruiters, but the software screening it does not always resolve abbreviations.
- List every ATS by name. Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, Taleo: these are literal search terms in recruiter job postings. A tools line with the right names can be the difference between a match and a miss.
- Keep it to one page. With under six years of experience, two pages suggests you cannot prioritize. Recruiters notice formatting discipline because it mirrors the job.

Recruiter resume FAQs
How many hires should I put on a recruiter resume?
Give an annual or quarterly number for each role, for example 45 hires in 2024 across 30 open reqs. Hiring managers want volume plus difficulty, so add context like the seniority of the roles or how tight the market was. One clear hires-per-year figure beats a vague claim about being a strong closer.
Is corporate or agency recruiting better on a resume?
Neither is automatically better. Corporate recruiting signals stakeholder management, workforce planning, and deeper partnership on fewer reqs. Agency or staffing signals speed, high volume, and sourcing range. Frame whichever background you have around the outcomes the target job values most.
Should a recruiter resume be one page?
With 3 to 6 years of experience, yes, one page is the right call. Recruiters skim fast, and a two-page resume from a recruiter sends the wrong message about editing judgment. Keep only the roles, metrics, and skills that prove you can fill jobs.
How do I show sourcing skills on a recruiter resume?
Name your channels and your results in the same bullet. For example: built a 400-person engineering pipeline through LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and referrals that produced 60 percent of 2024 hires. Mention Boolean search, talent mapping, or passive-candidate outreach only if you can tie each one to actual hires.
What if my time-to-fill numbers are not impressive?
Show the trend instead of the absolute number. If you cut time-to-fill from 55 days to 40, that improvement is the story. You can also shift focus to offer acceptance rate, hiring manager satisfaction, or quality of hire, which matter as much as speed.
